INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup (100g) natural untoasted muesli (or gluten free)
  • 12 cup (60g) natural protein powder
  • 1 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 12 cup (130g) unsweetened apple sauce
  • 12 cup (150g) crunchy natural peanut butter (or other nut butter)
  • 12 cup (150g) honey (brown rice syrup or maple syrup)
  • 1 tbs sunflower seeds (kernels)
METHOD
This method is based on 8 servings
  1. Preheat oven to 355°F and line an 8 inch square baking tin with baking paper.

     

  2. Combine muesli, protein powder and spice together in a large bowl.

     

  3. Warm apple sauce, peanut butter and honey in a small saucepan for a few minutes to combine.

     

  4. Add wet ingredients to dry and mix well. 

     

  5. Press mixture firmly into prepared tin. Scatter over sunflower kernels and gently press into the surface.

     

  6. Bake for 15 minutes, until golden.  Set aside in tin to cool before cutting into 8 bars.
