For me, off-ice training, healthy nutrition and rest are of equal importance to my on-ice training.

Off-Ice: I’m in the gym, running, hiking, swimming, biking and/ or playing with my kids everyday. .
Nutrition: I eat large and healthy vegetarian meals to keep my weight, strength and endurance up. My energy levels are paramount to me! I need them to always be high.

Rest: 8 hours of sleep every night as best I can, rest days from the gym where I hike instead of build. Also, I meditate everyday, twice a day which provides rest to my overall physiology and energy throughout the rest of my active day. Transcendental Meditation is my jam.
